Soft, clean and unscented laundry
Marseille laundry detergent is a liquid detergent whose base is genuine French Marseille soap. We make it at home in small batches. It contains no fragrance, so laundry comes out soft and clean – and above all unscented.
The same bottle works for the whole family's laundry: coloureds and whites, machine washing at all temperatures and hand washing. The detergent is also suitable for wool and silk.
Our story: we were looking for a detergent that suits sensitive skin
In autumn 2023 we visited our daughter in Spain. Her skin was broken from mosquito bites, and the local detergents made things worse. Our family also has severely atopic skin that has not always tolerated even detergents for sensitive skin. In the end we found Marseille laundry detergent in a small general store, and it turned out to work wonderfully.
We could not find anything similar in Finland, so we bought the raw materials in southern France and developed our own recipe in our home kitchen. Since October 2023 we have washed all of the family's laundry with it.
Use
- Machine wash: 1 dl detergent per wash, all temperatures.
- Coloureds: as it is.
- Whites: if you like, add a small amount of bleach or brightener.
- Stains: apply the detergent directly to the stain and let it work for a moment before washing.
- Hand wash, wool and silk: suitable for these too.
Ingredients
Water, Marseille soap, baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and vinegar.
Marseille soap is genuine French vegetable-oil soap without palm oil: a soap made from olive or sunflower oil and coconut oil (sodium olivate or sodium sunflowerseedate and sodium cocoate), glycerin, sodium chloride and sodium hydroxide, which is used in making soap.
Fragrance-free. No palm oil – vegan.
Keep out of reach of children. Avoid splashes in the eyes; if the product gets into the eyes, rinse with plenty of water.
